as for the AFC you have to take the pump off to adjust that. others may have different ideas but this has worked for me. now my pyro is pre turbo so if your pyro is post turbo set that screw at 900ish and you should be safe. so set that screw there and you wont have to eyeball the pyro all the time cause that gets old. I stopped at 1100 degrees when I lugged it down like 1300 rpm sustained. turn it out to increase fuel if you have a pyro that's good turn it out like 4 complete turns, take it out for a spin have your screwdriver with you and keep turning the screw out until the pyro stops increasing. I think it will take a 1/8 flat screwdriver to adjust it.
and I see by the picture that the plug seems to be missing which is good cause mine was a ballbearing and had to weld it out with a 1/16 unichrome rod. Yes you are correct about the throttle shaft, its where the throttle clamps on.
